Role: We are looking for a Principal Product Designer to lead one of our teams and oversee the design process for one of Elsewhen’s most high-profile and critical accounts. The ideal candidate will excel at working to the highest standards of product delivery, bringing strategic insight into market opportunities and setting design standards across the organisation. You will be pivotal in shaping design leadership within Elsewhen and extending your influence across other key areas.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight across the design team, driving alignment between product and engineering teams.
Establish, implement, and maintain high-level design standards across our clients, ensuring consistency and innovation.
Act as a strategic design leader on the team, thinking about market opportunities, evolving trends, and future design directions.
Enhance the customer experience by improving user testing, discovery processes, and focusing on user needs.
Drive collaboration with engineering to improve the design system and data visualisation practices.
Experiment with and deploy AI technologies into products and services, integrating cutting-edge technology in your design process.
Champion high-quality design practices and play an influential role in shaping design leadership across Elsewhen and beyond.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally as a principal product designer at a high-profile organisation, with the ability to think strategically across multiple teams and market opportunities.
Demonstrated expertise in establishing design standards, particularly in data visualisation, and improving design processes within a large organisation.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence design culture, collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams, and establish a strong design system.
Excellent customer focus, with the ability to conduct user testing and discovery processes to deeply understand user needs.
Experience with AI technologies, including experimenting with and deploying AI in production-level environments is desirable .
Deep understanding of how design impacts business, with experience driving business impact through design.
Preference for candidates with experience in long-term, client-side roles rather than consultancy backgrounds.
